Inadvertently I made a discovery that shows that Eudora has the already
built-in potential to display most character sets.

If you "send to browser" (IE6) from the Eudora message right click context
menu you can change the displayed character set with the Internet Explorer
right click context menu and solve most display problems.

Well, as Eudora already uses the "Microsoft Viewer" internally to display
messages, couldn't a right click context menu item be added to do this same
character set toggling in Eudora while displaying a message?

If so, then the wishes of many Eudora users would be answered. Something
very good for the new version.

The send to browser works also, of course, to Mozilla. But for those of
us who don't use the MS Viewer, wouldn't the character set need to be in
the application itself so it would be viewable with both view options?

Yes, but Mozilla, Opera, Netscape etc. cannot be used to view in a Eudora
Message pane.

My point was that, if a right click context menu with the same choices as
those in IE could be added during message viewing with the MS Viewer active,
Eudora could make use of IE's native display abilities. If the MS Viewer
were not enabled than these finctiosn would need to be built-in to Eudora,
which is something that Qualcomm doesn't seem to want to bother with doing
anytime soon.
