Hi,
I'm running Eudora 7.0.0.16 (Paid mode) on Win XP Pro SP2

I have programs on dir:
C:\Program Files\eudora
and all data on dir:
F:\EudoraData

All of my backups are on F:\EudoraData

I have a correct pair of deudora.ini and eudora.ini on F:\EudoraData but
now when I launch Eudora it finds nothing on his C:\Program
Files\eudora and bothering with prompt to "create an account" etc
why Eudora cant use the C:\Program Files\eudora\deudora.ini which
contains this:

[Settings]
NC=1
Code=NC
DataFolder=F:\EudoraData

[Mappings]
out=txt,ttxt,TEXT,text,plain
etc etc etc

I dont wanna Eudora to use configuration file on C: drive cos I want to
keep it on F: and keep just a default deudora.ini on C: popping to F.
full detailed configuration...

Thnaks for your help

You need to launch Eudora by means of a shortcut.
The content of the shortcut command line should be:

C:\Program Files\eudora F:\EudoraData

That's the problem. Deudora.ini doesn't belong in your data directory. It
belongs in yoru program directory.

Move that file back to your program directory if you want the information
in it to be used.

That's not the way Eudora works. You don't get a choice for where to put
deudora.ini, and in fact, it probably shouldn't have anything in it other
than what it contains by default. Deudora.ini is a file that for the most
part, is never likely to be changed by the user. (Don't get its purpose
confused with eudora.ini, which normally should go in the data
directory.) It is there to tell Eudora certain basic settings that are
always going to be appropriate, regardless of which data files are used.
The one thing normally in there besides those defaults is the name of the
default data directory. It can't get the name of the data directory out of
a file in the data directory, because it has no idea where it should be
looking for it at that point.
