i have eudora 7109 ;inked to Gmail, and altho it seems to work now for
read/writes, I still get the following eudora errors every time I
write. I have checked the eudora tools>options, and they look okay to
me - not only that - a few months back this was not happening with
same. So I am lost in left field as to what to try. Anyone?
Please be considerate.

Based upon the messages, you appear to have at least THREE
PERSONALITIES DEFINED... ("dominant" is always defined and did not produce
an error message, and two that did: GMAIL, and GMAILS).

Tools/Options should NOT BE USED to set up server information (it is a
legacy from Eudora 4 or so, when there was only ONE personality supported).

Instead, open the Personalities tab, right-click each personality and
select properties. THEN check the configuration.

The "GMAILS" personality does not have any POP server information
configured, yet is configured to check for new messages.

The "GMAIL" personality appears to have the user name of
"***@gmail.com" using server "pop.gmail.com". There is the
possibility that the user name may only need to be "mainclamdigger" without
the "@gmail.com" (typically, user names inherit the @.... from the provider
-- Earthlink is different because various mergers mean they handle various
older providers: in my case, @ix.netcom.com and @earthlink.net and need to
keep users separate -- ***@ix.netcom.com is not the same as
***@earthlink.net, but both use the same POP and SMTP servers).

Note that user name is not the same as email address. User name is what
you have to send to log-in to the server. Email address is what is used
when sending emails.

I suspect you will want to delete at least one of those personalities
-- and maybe both if your dominant personality is the only email address
you really have.

Yes you are right. I was playing around with that. I'll check and
get back. Much thanks.
