Eudora install with stunnel to make it work.
Windows 10 Pro
Firewall and security (Norton) turned off.

Everything I click on. I mean EVERYTHING takes 5-7 seconds to react.
Opening an email, adding a Label or color, moving to a folder.

It has become very irritating and I am considering switching to Outlook or Gmail on my new laptop install.

Any suggestions?
Should I try the hermes files instead of stunnel?

I would certainly recommend trying the Hermes TLS 1.2 update, it works perfectly for me!

One point to remember is Eudora keeps all of the Inbox in memory. I
read this many years ago. So I never let any emails stay in the Inbox.

All emails are filtered to a special folders as soon as they come in
and my Inbox stays the same size so it does not use up memory.

I don't know if this relates to your problem.

Correct. It also applies to the other 3 system mailboxes: Out, Junk
and Trash.

Keep the system mailboxes small.

Good point about the system mailbox size, that would certainly slow things down if one or more of them was too large.
My "Out" box is the only one of any size, because I don't clear it until a new year comes, at which point I archive it.
Although some years it can get to just over 1000 messages before being cleared, I've never had any slowing down problems doing that.

Ok, emptying my bulging In/Out/Trash seemed to do the trick thank you very much.
In had 29,767 pre 2021 emails.
Out had 6,174
Trash had 614 or so.

Now to figure out Hermes TLS 1.2update instead of using stunnel.

Thank you!

If you had nearly 30,000 messages in your Inbox, I'm surprised that Eudora still worked at all!
It's quite amazing that all that happened was a 5-7 second delay in performing functions.
